LIGHT INTO EUROPE
None of our work would be possible without the generosity of our corporate
partners and we are indeed grateful that a market leader like Orange Romania has embraced and supported this pioneering project from the very beginning. We also value the first-rate teamwork that its staff has contributed as volunteers. They are an outstanding example of good practice and commitment towards communities with special needs.
Together we initiated two ground breaking programs:

1) Training in sign language to be able to work directly with deaf.
2) Training in orientation and mobility, enabling volunteers to teach blind people to develop space awareness and how to get around safely.
Thanks to the helping hands of teams of volunteers, we also brought a brighter atmosphere in schools by renovating classrooms and dormitories.
In numerous ways, we have worked together touched the lives of more than 1500 children and young people around Romania.

Renovation and refurbishment for three schools, 10 classrooms, 20 bedrooms (for 100 pupils);

20 volunteers trained in orientation and mobility for blind helpers;

20 volunteers trained in visual screening for blind children;

30 volunteers helping with the 2007 hearing aids mission for 1,200 deaf children.
